Flood advisory’s from Peterborough right down south to the Bay of Quinte have been issued.
Lower Trent Conservation says the freezing temperatures are causing frazil ice to build up, and that is causing water levels in the Trent River to increase. In fact, levels between Glen Ross and Frankford have been rising at about 2 cm per hour, since this morning(yesterday morning).
Low lying areas could be flooded soon. Residents should make sure their sump pumps are working and secure any personal property along the river.
