UPDATE 3:05 PM: Highway 62 between Ashley Street and Frankford Road is now open to traffic. The investigation is continuing.
A 20-year-old Campbellford woman was airlifted to Kingston General Hospital with life threatening injuries following a serious head on crash that happened on Highway 62 near Frankford Road early Monday morning.
According to Centre Hastings OPP the woman was traveling northbound on Highway 62 when the vehicle she was driving crossed the centreline and collided head on with a southbound vehicle. She had to be extracted from her vehicle. The southbound vehicle was being driven by a 70 -year-old local Foxboro resident who was also transported to KGH and with serious head injuries.
Highway 62 remains closed between Ashley Street and Frankford Road and traffic has been re-routed.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting in the investigation.
No names are being released as the investigation is ongoing.
