Belleville native Nick Cousins and the Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to terms on a one year two way contract.
The 22 year old Cousins, who was a restricted free agent, has accepted the Flyers qualifying offer which comes with an NHL cap hit of $840,000 or $70,000 if he plays for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
Cousins scored 38 points in 38 games for the Phantoms prompting a promotion to the NHL where he added 6 goals and 11 points in 36 games. It was Cousin’s second call-up to the Flyers. He says it didn’t take long to adapt this time.
Cousins says Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol showed a lot of confidence in him.
The Quinte Red Devils graduate also played in all six games of the Flyers playoff series against Washington.
