Belleville won’t be compiling its own patient registry afterall. City Council decided at its meeting, this week, that it would have staff begin a list of residents that still need a family doctor. The city will see seven of its doctor recruits setting up practice this year. but, Mayor Neil Ellis tells our newsroom he was informed yesterday by the Local Health Integration Network that the provincial list will be completed in three weeks. he says staff had already started putting together the database, but, have been informed it will no longer be necessary. After a more than a year of waiting the LHIN promised the lost would be available in November….but, it still hasn’t been completed.
