A Belleville Police officer was involved in a scuffle with a suspect who allegedly tried to grab the officer’s handgun.
An officer responded to a business in the area of North Front and Tracey Streets Thursday afternoon on a report of a money-related fraud in progress.
The officer chased the male suspect on foot to Finch Drive where they got into a struggle and the suspect grabbed at the officer’s holstered gun.
A 32-year-old Toronto man faces several charges, including resisting arrest, attempting to disarm a police officer and impersonation.
He was held for a bail hearing today.
