There’s a new honourary head of CFB Trenton’s 429 Transport Squadron.
Glenn Rainbird was officially welcomed to the position today at 8 Wing, taking over for Honourary Colonel Allen Kemp Stewart, who had held the role since 2012.
Rainbird, whose accomplished business career includes time spent with companies like Nortel Networks and Imperial Oil, has held similar roles before, including a stint as the Honourary Colonel for all of 8 Wing between 2007 and 2011.
Rainbird’s main responsibility as the honourary colonel is to help develop, promote and sustain strong community support for the unit.
429 Transport Squadron has been based at 8 Wing since 1990 and does everything from delivering humanitarian aid to disaster zones, to carrying supplies to troops on the front lines.
