A former Stirling resident will find out his sentence Friday, for his role inĀ disposing of a dead body north of Prescott.
In May, Matthew Benoit pleaded guilty to a charge of indignity to a human body, after a Niagara region man was dumped in Kemptville Creek last October.
A 27-year-old man, who was at a party with Benoit, overdosed on drugs and eventually died.
Party goers, including Benoit, put his body in a hockey bag and dumped it in the water.
A local family made the discovery days later.
On Tuesday in Brockville court, family of the deceased Deepak Beaudoin-Reichmann read victim impact statements.
One person has already received a sentence of more than five years, while the Crown is asking that Benoit and another man each receive three-and-a-half years for their role.
Sentencing will take place Friday in Brockville.
