The Quinte area ducked a tornado in June but the Peterborough area wasn’t so lucky on Canada Day.
As we reported earlier, Environment Canada determined that the heavy storm that hit the region in June, causing damage in the Stirling to Napanee area, was not a tornado.
Meterologist Geoff Coulson says a tornado did touch down at Buckhorn Lake in Peterbough County on Canada Day and was videoed by three people.
He says it meets specific criteria.
Coulson says the storm in the Quinte area was a “burst of damaging winds.”
