Prince Edward-Hastings M-P Daryl Kramp has been assured federal negotiators are still trying to resume talks about a land claim with the Tyendinaga Reserve Band council..
The talks broke down last June when the government told Tyendinaga negotiators it wouldn’t buy properties to hand over to native control, and offered financial compensation instead.
Kramp met with the lead federal negotiator in Ottawa yesterday, and was told she is still trying to get talks going again.
The land claim involves 920 acres of the Culbertson tract in Tyendinaga township and Deseronto.
