The new official plan under consideration in Prince Edward County isn’t sitting well with seniors.
At a meeting of county council tonight (Tuesday), Irene Harris of the Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association asked that planning staff take another look at the wording in the new plan and report back to council.
The Association believes many references to seniors in the current official plan had been removed in the new plan in its draft form.
The references referred to seniors as volunteers, and as needing housing, healthcare, and support to stay in their homes as long as possible.
Council is asking for a report on the issues to come to a future meeting for discussion.
