A Belleville native is heading from one original six team to another.
During the NHL draft on Friday, Andrew Shaw was traded from Chicago to the Montreal Canadiens.
During a conference call, Shaw said he has had a chance to talk to Habs GM Mark Bergevin and he is excited.
As far as negotiations went, Shaw says he believes he and the Hawks are close to a deal.
Two picks were sent the other way.
Shaw is a two time Stanley Cup Champion.
