It was a bright, sunny day for participants of the fourth annual Belleville Slut Walk on Saturday afternoon.
The event, which started in 2011 in Toronto, was created as a response to a police officer in Toronto who made a disparaging comment about the way women dress to avoid victimization.
It has since made a huge splash all across North America, including in Belleville, starting in 2013.
The walk this year was organized by locals Elissa Robertson and Caitlin Sextun.
The walk started at the Belleville Public Library and finished up at the Jane Forrester Park, where activities such as a raffle draw, yard sale, live music and many others are happening.
All proceeds raised from the event will go to the Sexual Assault Centre of Quinte.
