The Stirling-Rawdon police officer who accidentally shot himself in the hand yesterday is expected to make a full recovery.
The officer had just returned to the Stirling station from a pistol re-qualification session and was cleaning his service pistol when it went off.

Currently the Belleville Police Service is conducting an investigation on behalf of the Stirling-Rawdon Police Service and will report the findings upon conclusion. The investigation is continuing under the authority of the Police Services Act of Ontario.
No one else was injured in the incident.
