Public meetings coming up on asset management
The Mayor of Centre Hastings is hoping a lot of residents take the time to stop by a pair of upcoming public meetings, aimed at shaping the municipalities future.
Mayor Tom Deline says the sessions on June 20 and 23 will take input as part of an ongoing asset management and service delivery plan.
He says the aim is to find out what services are important to people.
A facilitator has been hired to help run the meetings, at a cost of $1,500.
The June 20 session will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Moira Hall and the session on the 23rd will be hosted at the Arts Centre in Madoc.
Year-to-date build stats break records
It seems business is booming, as far as building goes, in Centre Hastings.
The Chief Building Officials report presented at last night’s meeting, shows a total value of $3.7 million dollars worth of construction permits being issued this year to date.
That’s the highest number since 1998, when the municipality started keeping building stats and Mayor Tom Deline says it’s great news.
Last year to date, permit value’s were worth just over $1.4 million dollars.
