For the fourth straight year, the Campbellford District High School Senior Jazz Ensemble has played its way to a prestigious provincial award.
After winning the Peterborough Kiwanis Jazz Festival in April, the group picked up first place again at the provincial finals, edging out John F Ross High, of Guelph and Lawrence Park Collegiate, from Toronto, to round out the top three.
The group also picked up a National Gold Award at the Musicfest Canada Festival last month as well.
There’s also a chance to see the group and other CDHS musicians live this weekend, as the school holds its annual Music Night, at the Westben Theatre, at 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
