Fire destroyed a vacant house in the heart of downtown Deseronto this morning.
Deseronto and Mohawk firefighters responded just before 1 o’clock this morning to the fire at 317 Main Street.
A vacant older 2 storey wood frame house, which contained two apartments, was up in flames.
Deseronto Fire Chief Darrell Brinklow says about $150,000 damage was done.
There was also damage to the siding on a house next to the fire.
Firefighters remain on the scene, and an investigation into the cause of the fire will get underway this morning.
No one was injured.
