The group OurTMH is officially joining a volunteer-led referendum with the Ontario Health Coalition.
The groups say the cuts taking place at local hospitals are hurting health care and TMH has lost all surgeries and half their acute care beds.
More than 40 other communities have joined the effort.
Natalie Mehra is the Executive Director of the Ontario Health Coalition and says the cuts across the province and in Quinte West have been devastating.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison says they need to be as efficient as possible.
Votes will be taking place across Quinte West this week, with the results to be released early next week.
