Canadian Olympic champions will be on hand as the Community Connections Expo gets underway this weekend in Cobourg.
Commander of Northumberland OPP detachment and Expo co-chair, Lisa Darling, says the event is aimed at informing people of all ages about health and safety issues in Northumberland County.
Six-time Olympic medalist and mental health advocate Clara Hughes is one of the speakers.
Two-time Olympic women’s hockey gold medalist Cheryl Pounder will discuss learning from failures as well as successes.
Saturday includes sessions on domestic violence, cybercrime, parenting, addictions and intellectual disabilities.
There will be outdoor demonstrations, a kids fun zone and 75 community service booths.
The Expo runs Friday and Saturday at the Cobourg Community Centre.
