Central Hastings O.P.P Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Peter Valiquette is retiring on June 30, 2016.
S/Sgt. Valiquette has been the Detachment Commander of Central Hastings since 2001 and he is retiring after more than 30 years with the Ontario Provincial Police.
S/Sgt. Valiquette started his policing career with the South Porcupine Detachment in 1985. During his years of service, he spent time with Foleyet Detachment, Winchester Detachment and Kemptville Detachment, working his way up from Constable to Sergeant to Staff Sergeant.
Over the past 15 years during his tenure as Detachment Commander, S/Sgt. Valiquette has resided in the Municipality of Tweed where he has been an active community member both personally and professionally.
His co-workers recognize him for his leadership, guidance and encouragement over the years and extend best wishes to him in this new chapter of his life.
