A man who robbed a pair of banks, one in Tweed the other in Whitby and led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle will serve seven years in prison.
Yesterday, 32-year-old Adam Bembridge was sentenced for two robberies he committed in 2015.
Bembridge was charged in May of last year in Peterborough after Central Hastings OPP called off a chase for safety reasons when it reached highway 401, following the robbery of the Bank of Montreal in Tweed.
In October, he plead guilty to two counts of robbery, one count of flight from police, possession of a fire arm in contrary to a prohibition order and possession of a stolen vehicle.
The clerk at the Quinte consolidated courthouse says given his time already spent in pre-trial custody Bembridge has five-and-a-half years left to be served.
He was also handed a three year driving prohibition and life time weapons ban.
