There was an increase in the number of incidents of violent crime in Prince Edward County last year.
OPP report the number of calls for violent crimes went up from 174 in 2014 to 241 last year, a 38 percent increase.
The violent crimes category includes such incidents as murder, assault, sexual assault and robbery.
The biggest increase was for the crime of assault, jumping from 99 in 2014 to 162 cases last year.
