The Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls for service between May 2nd, 2016 at 5:00 a.m. and May 3rd, 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Accidents
Belleville, Ontario – On May 2nd, 2016, at 5:41 p.m. officers responded to a single vehicle rollover on Dundas Street West between Palmer Rd and Sidney St. Initial reports indicated that the vehicle was on fire and that the occupants were trapped in the car. Belleville Fire Department attended and assisted with the extrication of the two occupants. Dundas Street West was closed for four hours while the Traffic Management Unit conducted an investigation. Both occupants were taken to BGH by EMS. The passenger was treated and released while the driver was admitted for undetermined injuries. The car was demolished and was towed from the scene. Domestic Disturbances
Belleville, Ontario – On May 2nd, 2016, at 12:23 p.m. officers attended on Sidney Street in relation to a domestic disturbance. A 19 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He will appear for a bail hearing on May 3rd, 2016. There were no injuries to the victim.
On May 2nd, 2016, at 1:47 p.m. officers attended on Coleman for a report of a criminal harassment complaint. A 21 year old Belleville man was arrested later in the day and held for a bail hearing on a charge of criminal harassment.
Disturbance
Belleville, Ontario – On May 2nd, 2016, at 9:22 p.m. officers attended on North Front St. at Bell Blvd. in relation to an intoxicated male who was yelling at people in the area. A 49 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
