Rain certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of Trenton Golden Hawk fans as they turned out in big numbers to give the OJHL champions a heroes sendoff to the “Dudley Hewitt Cup”. Quinte West held a rally at the Amphitheatre yesterday afternoon. Today the team boards a bus for the long trip to Kirkland Lake where they play their first game tomorrow afternoon against the Soo Thunderbirds. Hawks Assistant G.M. John MacDonald offers a scouting report.
And so is Trenton’s Daniel Urbani.
Three of the top 5 teams in Canada will play in the Dudley Hewitt. Sault Ste. Marie is number 3, followed by Trenton and Fort Francis at number 5.
The winner advances to the National RBC Cup in Lloydminster Alberta.
