Who says construction projects never finish early?
Last week Parks Canada officials said work on the Hastings Swing Bridge would be completed early and today they have confirmed, the bridge will open to traffic at 9:00 tomorrow morning.
The early opening will also allow the contractor to monitor the new bridge and see how it responds to traffic and then make any minor fixes that may be needed.
Parks Canada is also reminding drivers that once the bridge opens, there may still be intermittent closures as workers put the finishing touches on.
Pedestrians should continue to use the temporary sidewalks until the new permanent ones are completed.
The bridge replacement is part of a $3 billion government investment across Canada’s national historic sites, parks and conservation areas.
