The Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls for service between April 25th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m. and April 26th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Accidents
Belleville, Ontario – On April 25th, 2016, at 12:15 p.m. officers attended on College Street East at Baldwin Street in relation to an accident involving a tractor trailer and a car. The car was towed from the scene, and there were no reported injuries. A 46-year old male was charged with disobeying a stop sign.
At 1:59 p.m. officers attended at Bridge Street West at Sidney Street in relation to a two-car accident. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries. Both cars were towed from the scene. A 25-year old male was charged with failing to yield from a private drive.
At 2:52 p.m. officers attended on West Moira Street at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in relation to a two-car accident. Both cars were demolished and both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The roadway was closed for 5 hours to allow for an investigation by the Traffic Management Unit. The roadway was reopened shortly after 8:00 p.m. Belleville Fire Department also attended to extricate one of the trapped drivers from their vehicle. A 21-year old male was charged with failing to drive in a marked lane.
At 3:06 p.m. officers attended on Palmer Road in relation to a two-car accident. One person suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention. Both cars were towed from the scene. A 19-year old male was charged with failing to yield to traffic.
