MPP Todd Smith says he plans to continue to press the Minister of Natural Resources Bill Mauro on local and provincial issues now that he’s been promoted to a new role.
This week, PC Leader Patrick Brown added the Natural Resources and Forestry portfolio to Smith’s list of responsibilities which already include his Caucus’ response to the government’s Hydro One sale.
Smith says the extra responsibility is an honour.
He tells Quinte News first “plan of attack” will be to address a budget increase in fees for fishing, hunting and camping in 2017.
Smith says another area of concern is the County’s continued efforts in looking to partner with the province over revenue at the Sandbanks Provincial Park.
Smith adds the Blanding’s Turtle and the Little Brown Bat will continue to be a focal point too.
Smith says he will also be working to eliminating red tape in the forestry industry up north.
