It’s another successful year for the annual Hospice Quinte Gala.
This year’s 007 Gala raised $88,000 in support of Hospice Quinte’s free programs and services.
270 attended the James Bond themed fundraiser gala on Saturday, April 9 at the National Air Force Museum in Trenton. Over 90 donated items made up the popular silent auction, live auction and raffle. Guests were wowed during cocktail hour by recording artist and singer Rob Greene – covering such songs as Adele’s popular James Bond theme song ‘Skyfall’. The evening’s entertainment included a Bond themed haute couture runway show presented by Darek Wierzbicki, renowned hair stylist and owner of Belleville’s Studio 237.
The community support was strong with guests including Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher, Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison and council members, Bay of Quinte MP Neil Ellis, Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio, representative for Todd Smith, MPP for Prince Edward – Hastings. Orlena Cain of Mix 97 led the night as the event’s emcee, while Bay of Quinte Tourism Director Dug Stevenson stepped in as the evening’s live auctioneer.
“It’s wonderful to see the support for Hospice Quinte and palliative care in our community. It is this strong community support that allows us to continue our vital work in the Quinte region.” Says Helen Dowdall, Executive Director. “Hospice Quinte is grateful for the support from community members, local businesses, and organizations.”
Funds raised will go directly towards Hospice Quinte’s free programs and services that include: In Home Support, Caregiver Support, and Grief Bereavement support for adults and children.
