Policing with a purpose and focused patrols by Quinte West OPP officers seems to be working.
Quinte West Detachment Commander Inspector Mike Reynolds says extra patrols during times of concern led to significant increases in impaired charges on the Trenton Frankford Road, and big decreases in the number of thefts in downtown Trenton and break ins at commercial properties.
Focused patrols involve looking at crime data from the past 3 to 5 years to predict future crime and then putting officers “in the right place at the right time”.
