Work on Belleville’s Yardmen Arena could begin as early as the fall.
After Thursday’s announcement about a design contract for renovations, city staff and council are looking over what work can take place.
Director of Recreation Mark Fluhrer says the price of the renovations vary.
Fluhrer says they want to shrink the size of the ice pad in the arena.
Currently the ice surface is 200 by 100 feet, which is Olympic size measurements, whiles an NHL pad is 200 by 85 feet, 3,000 square feet smaller.
