A 42-year-old Picton man will go to jail for 20 months on a charge of sexual interference.
After his release, the man will be put on two years probation, take counselling, and have his name put on a sex offender registry, along with submitting a sample to the DNA bank.
Charges of sexual assault and sexual touching were stayed.
The three incidents that led to charges involved a young person well under the age of 16 and occurred three years ago.
Mr. Justice Wolf Tausenfreund said the man was in a position of trust and authority in regards to the complainant.
The Crown had asked for a three-year jail sentence while the man’s lawyer had asked for a 12 to 18 month jail
sentence.
