New construction is picking up nicely this spring in the City of Belleville.
Last month, the city issued 68 building permits for a total construction value
of just over 7 million dollars.
This compares very favorably to March of 2015, when permits were only valued
at just over 2 million.
Plans for new residential units were the big difference last month.
19 permits were issued for homes, with a value of over 5.2 million dollars
