A pair of municipalities in the northern part of our listening area are getting some provincial cash to improve some major arterial roads.
Centre Hastings is getting $712,000 for work on Highway 62, while Marmora and Lake will get $425,000 for work on Highway 7.
All of the funds are coming from the province’s Connecting Links program, handing out $20 million this year and increasing that funding to 30 million by 2018/19.
In Centre Hastings, work will be done on St. Lawrence Street West, from Durham Street to Russell Street, with bridge work done on Highway 62.
In Marmora and Lake, improvements will be made on Matthew Street, from the Crowe River Bridge, to North Maloney Street.
There was no immediate word on when those projects would commence.
