UPDATED 3 P.M.:
More details are being released about a suspicious package delivered to Belleville City Hall Wednesday morning.
At 9:30 a.m., Belleville police responded to the Front Street location after an unmarked box had been placed at the base of a mailbox outside the main doors of City Hall.
Police cordoned off the area to traffic.
Based on witness accounts and video from the downtown CCTV cameras the box was examined on site.
>The box contained only household items. It appears that the box may have been dropped off for donation purposes.
The area was reopened by 10:15 a.m.
