Smoking is messy and costly to clean up after, and landlords in the Quinte region want people to
stop smoking in their rental units.
Recently, the Quinte Landlords Association brought in an expert from the Hastings Prince Edward Health
Unit to show them how to convert rental units and buildings to smoke-free.
The health unit can provide signage and other assistance.
The Association says its members will warn people to stop smoking, but will ask the health unit’s officers
to start ticketing people if it has to.
