It was far from unanimous, but Brighton council has voted to look into having a formal “code of conduct” for members of council.
Mayor Mark Walas and Councillor Mary Tadman made the motion for a staff report and won the day with the support of councillors Ostrander and Vink.
However, councillors McMurray, Martinello, and Baker voted against.
Mayor Mark Walas, who was accused of flip-flopping on the code of conduct issue, believes some rules will be a good idea.
John Martinello had a heated discussion with Councillor Tadman and was asked to apologize, but didn’t.
