At its meeting tonight, Quinte West council will discuss helping establish a residential hospice in the city.
A hospice is a place where care for those approaching the end of their lives is offered in a home-like setting.
While there are residential hospices in Picton, Warkworth, and Madoc, there are none in Belleville or Quinte West.
Council is being asked to strike a committee, including Dr. Sharada Prasad and Hospice Quinte, to look
into the feasability of such a facility.
The Leopold Centre property in Trenton is being considered as a location. The old building currently on the site would be torn down.
