Northumberland county is being swamped by fraudulent Canada Revenue Agency calls.
Northumberland OPP report they have been notified of approximately 75 fraudulent Canada Revenue Agency calls to residents in one day.
This compares to a total of 145 fraud related calls in 2015.
Police say the majority of the fraudulent calls received Wednesday began with an individual identifying himself as a police officer.
Police would like to remind the public that the Revenue Agency does not collect outstanding taxes by using threats of imminent arrest or demand payments be made through courier services or money/wire transfers.
