The Quinte Blades Speed Skating Club have a record setting Provincial Champion in their midst. Paul Pickard broke national records in both the 777 and 500 metre distances at the Masters Short Track Provincial Championships.
At the Provincial “A” Championships, 11 year old Matthew Tootle took 13 seconds off his personal best while finishing 4th in the 1500 metre. Carson Karja, also 11 years old took 8 seconds off his personal best.
Trent Sproule and Brian Hoffman skated in the Provincial “C” Championships for ages 6 to 10.
