The Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf and the Sagonaska Demonstration School in Belleville were
both front and centre at Queens Park yesterday.
After questioning by Prince Edward Hastings MPP Todd Smith, Education Minister Liz Sandals clearly stated that Sir James Whitney would not be closed, and that the Liberal government was not even
considering it.
However, regarding the Sagonaska Demonstration School, which serves about 40 students with special needs, she was less clear, only saying the government was considering all options to provide a better service to more students.
Meanwhile, teachers working temporarily at Sagonaska have been told to be ready to work at their regular schools next year.
