The citizens’ advocacy group working to keep Trenton Memorial Hospital alive and well isn’t impressed with a recent letter to the editor by the chair of the Quinte Health Care Board of Directors.
While members of OurTMH didn’t take issue with all of the contents of chair Tricia Anderson’s letter, the group found a statement saying that $1.1 million in donations for medical equipment made to the Trenton hospital foundation had depreciated in worth to under $300,000.
OurTMH co-chair Mike Cowan says it’s insulting to treat people’s donations in cold accounting terms.
OurTMH will respond with its own letter to the editor in the near future. QHC chair Anderson’s letter discussed rationalizing moving surgeries away from Trenton to Belleville General Hospital.
