The Trenton Golden Hawks continue to cruise heading into the OJHL’s postseason dance with a 6-2 triumph over the last place Lindsay Muskies last night. Hunter Fargey led the way with 5 points, while Mitch Emerson and Danny Hanlon each chipped in with 3. Fargey credits the key acquisitions of veteran players as a large part of their surge down the stretch.
Trenton improves to a league best 44-5-1-3 on the season, they are in Aurora tonight to face the Tigers. Game time is 7:30.
DUKES
Meanwhile, the Wellington Dukes added their 32nd victory to their record in their last game of the season with a 5-2 win over the Whitby Fury. Ben Sokay and Matt Adams both scored a pair, Brodie Maracle added the other tally. Carter Allen, Luc Brown and Dylan Mascarin all added two helpers and Olie Lafreniere turned aside 39 shots in a first star effort. Wellington is expected to face Aurora in round one of the playoffs, date is yet to be confirmed.
