The Hastings Prince Edward School Board is not changing its mind on its policy on head lice.
At the Monday night board meeting, a delegation came forward asking the board to reverse its policy, which will now allow students with nits or head lice to remain in the classroom.
On Friday afternoon, the board sent notice to parents, stating they were going to stick with their policy.

Quinte News talked to Medical Officer of Health Doctor Richard Schabas, who says head lice is not very contagious.
He says it usually only spreads through the sharing of hats, toques or combs.
However a large group of local parents disagree.
A facebook group called STOP THE NEW HEAD LICE PROTOCOL says they are pushing forward.
Spokesperson Kristy Sinclair says they will be pulling kids out of school to protest the board’s stance.
The walkout is scheduled to take place on March 8th.
Sinclair adds that if nothing is done, they will then look at taking the HPEDSB to court.
