A Liberal M-P-P from Thunder Bay wants to know what his government will do about elk causing damage to farms in the Bancroft area.
Bill Mauro asked the Natural Resources Minister what can be done about the animals, which have steadily grown in population since being reintroduced to North Hastings about ten years ago.
The Minister, Linda Jeffery, said she had spoken with conservation groups, the anglers and hunters federation, farmers and ministry scientists, and the province is completing the first stage of public consultations on the draft elk management plan.
