Churches in Tweed should beware.
Central Hastings O-P-P say a man claiming he needs money for a personal emergency, such as a traffic accident, has been calling churches and asking for help. Meetings have been arranged, and the church has handed over cash.
Police aren’t sure if the man’s claims are legitimate, but advise churches to check out the caller’s name and credentials before agreeing to give him any money..
