Concerned parents say students who have lice should be kept at home and not allowed in the classroom.
During a presentation before the Hastings and Prince Edward public school board Monday night, a delegation asked the board to rethink its new policy on head lice.
Now in the Hastings Prince Edward Public Board, students can remain in class if they have lice.
Kristy Sinclair says that this is wrong and says the parents have a strong message for the board.
Sinclair pleaded with trustees to overturn the policy.
Many in the medical community side with the board, stating the risk for transfer of head lice is very low.

A petition with 1,500 signatures was given to the board as they looked at the decision.
The Director of Education and not the board trustees will make the final call later this week.
