As the first big snow storm of 2016 hits the Quinte region, it may not seem like it but Belleville officials say the snowplow crews are at work on city streets.
The storm has poured snow onto the Quinte area including the streets of Belleville for hours.
Manager of transportation Pat McNulty told our newsroom that crews have been out since the beginning of freezing rain last night.
The crews are plowing the main streets, such as Dundas Street, over and over again.
McNulty says they are just beginning to hit the side streets as well.
He says they will continue this work throughout the day and night.
