The Belleville Police Service responded to 51 calls for service between February 12th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m. and February 13th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Assault
Belleville, Ontario – On February 12th, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. police attended on Sidney Street regarding a neighbor dispute. The investigation led to the arrest of a 63 year old Belleville woman for one count of assault. She was released with a court date of March 17th, 2016. The victim in the assault was not injured.
Thefts from cars
Belleville, Ontario – On February 13th, 2016, at 1:45 a.m. police attended on Pepper Ave. off West Moira Street in relation to prowlers around parked cars. Several cars had been entered and officers started to follow the tracks in the snow. Despite the frigid temperatures officers tracked the footprints south on Palmer Road through Sherwood Crescent. The tracks crossed east to Boyce Court through backyards to the Fairgrounds. The trail continued across Sidney Street to Yeomans St. The tracks went east onto Graham St. before turning north into an apartment building on Benjamin Street. Once inside the building wet footprints led the officers to the laundry room in the basement where two males were hiding. Both were arrested at 3:15 a.m. and two backpacks were seized. Adam Reid, 32 years of age, and David Reid, 23 years of age, both of Belleville, face multiple counts of theft in relation to thefts from cars over the last two nights. Unclaimed property at this time includes an HP laptop computer, an HTC cell phone, numerous GPS devices, cigarettes, loose change, Asian currency, medication and two backpacks. Both men will appear in court on April 7th, 2016.
