Supply workers at the Catholic schools in Campbellford and Grafton have a new contract..
Members of CUPE Local 1453, which represents the Peterborough-based Catholic Board’s 242 secretaries, custodians, educational assistants, maintenance staff, library support specialists, and other employees have ratified the letter of understanding.. It is the first agreement for casual employees, and it will remain in effect until August 31st, 2012, when the contract for all the board’s CUPE employees expires.
The new agreement includes details covering hiring supply workers to help with temporary peak work loads, a pay increase for long-term assignments and increasing the Local’s bargaining committee to include one supply worker.
