The number of houses for sale in this area is down but they were selling better last month than they were at the same time last year.
Last month, 142 homes were sold in the Quinte region, according to statistics released by the Quinte and District Association of Realtors.
In January of 2015, 132 homes were sold.
However, the number of listings was down last month, at 980. There were just over 1,200 homes listed in January of last year.
Dollar value of home sales was up 6.5% last month from a year ago.
