A former Belleville city council candidate has been sentenced after fleeing from the OPP in Prince Edward County last June.
19-year-old Lonnie Herrington Jr. was charged after failing to stop for police in Bloomfield.
OPP located the suspect vehicle and followed it on to Big Island, and ended up arresting Herrington after a search involving a canine unit and an emergency response team.
He was sentenced to a driving ban for a total of three years in Picton court this week.
